Kevin Sharkey is a founding member and a producer of Six Rivers Choral Artists (formerly Arcata Choral Artists) and is the owner of Threadbare Dancewear in Arcata, California.  He has spent his most recent performance time on the recital stage, singing with the Humboldt County based ensemble PianoVoce in Arcata, Eureka, Redding, Point Reyes, and Ashland. He has studied voice at Humboldt State University (HSU)  with Jim Stanard, as well as with Sheila Marks and Nancy Correll.

With Humboldt Light Opera Company (HLOC), Kevin performed the role of The Builder in the 2007 production of Titanic - The Musical, for which he also designed and constructed the costumes.  Other performances include Cox and Box at the Forum Theater for HLOC and several Opera Workshop presentations at HSU, including Donizetti's The Night Bell, An Evening with Jerome Kern, and The Crucible.

As a costumer, Kevin designed Enter the Guardsman, If Memory Serves, and Dinner with Friends for Redwood Curtain Theater in Eureka; Cox and Box for HLOC; The Night Bell and An Evening with Jerome Kern for the HSU Opera Workshop; and most recently, Dreams Before Awakening for the HSU Dance Department. For much of the past twelve years, Kevin has worked as a wardrobe supervisor for Stiletto Entertainment and Holland America Cruise Ship Line, working on the spectacular production shows and seeing much of the world at the same time.

A native of San Diego, he graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from San Diego State University with a BA in Art History.  However, much of Kevin's undergraduate time at SDSU was spent in the music department, where he sang with the Chamber Singers, Concert Choir, and Vocal Jazz Ensemble, all under the direction of Dr. Frank Almond.
